Acura is Honda's luxury and performance division, and that relationship is the single most useful fact when sourcing an Acura engine: nearly every Acura powerplant is a refined version of a Honda unit. The famous J-Series V6 — the 3.2L, 3.5L and 3.7L — that powers the TL, TLX, MDX and RDX is shared directly with the Honda Accord, Pilot and Odyssey. It's an engine renowned for crossing 200,000 miles when the timing belt is maintained.
The four-cylinder side runs the K-Series — the same legendary 2.4L found in the Honda Accord and CR-V — tuned for sharper response in the ILX and TSX.
