The Cadillac Engine Story

Cadillac's modern engine bay splits two ways: GM's shared corporate engines and Cadillac's own performance hardware. The 3.6L V6 (LFX/LGX) and 2.0L Turbo (LTG) power the bulk of the CTS, ATS, XTS, SRX, XT4, and XT5. The Escalade shares the 6.2L L86/L87 V8 with the GMC Yukon Denali.

Cadillac's V-Series performance models use unique engines — the 3.6L twin-turbo (LF3/LF4) in the CTS-V Sport, ATS-V, and CT6, and the supercharged 6.2L LSA/LT4 in the CTS-V super-sedan. Older Cadillacs (DeVille, STS, XLR, early SRX) run the 4.6L Northstar V8.
