On the 3.6L V6 (LFX) we check timing chains and cam phasers; on the 2.0T (LTG) we verify the turbo and timing chain; on older 3.x pushrod V6s we confirm intake-manifold-gasket history. We match Federal vs California emissions and FWD vs AWD so it fits and runs right. If it's not right, it doesn't ship.
